Patna: The Municipal Commissioner of Patna Municipal Corporation conducted a field inspection across Wards 3, 4, 9, and 10 in the Nutan Rajdhani Zone to review pre-monsoon preparedness and drainage arrangements ahead of the rainy season.
The inspection was carried out along with ward councilors and senior engineering and administrative officials.
Focus on Drainage and Flood Prevention
Key locations covered during the visit included the drainage pumping station at Eco Park-2, the Legislative Assembly complex, Ara Garden, BIT Mesra campus, and Police Colony in Anisabad.
The Municipal Commissioner directed officials to ensure that all preventive measures are completed in advance so that waterlogging can be avoided during heavy rainfall.

At Eco Park-2, he reviewed the pumping system, equipment functionality, and drainage capacity for emergency situations. Officials were instructed to ensure that all pump sets and machinery remain fully operational and are inspected regularly.
Road Conditions and Civic Repairs
The Commissioner also inspected the road stretch near Secretariat Halt and directed immediate restoration of damaged portions to avoid inconvenience to commuters.
Officials were asked to prioritise repair work and ensure smooth movement in the area before the onset of monsoon rains.
Review at Legislative Assembly Complex
At the Legislative Assembly complex, officials informed that water drainage occurs naturally during normal rainfall conditions. However, pump sets of different capacities have been installed to manage heavy rainfall situations.
The Commissioner expressed satisfaction with the arrangements and instructed that all equipment should remain in operational readiness at all times.

Desilting Progress in Police Colony
At Police Colony in Anisabad, the Commissioner inspected desilting and cleaning work by opening drain chambers. The work was found to be satisfactory during the inspection.
He directed officials to complete all remaining drain cleaning work within the stipulated timeline and maintain quality standards before monsoon onset.
