Patna: The Patna Municipal Corporation has allocated Rs 2.27 crore for the maintenance of the city’s water supply system, in a move aimed at ensuring uninterrupted and clean water for residents.
Officials said the funds will be used to repair pipelines, plug leaks, replace faulty valves and pumps, and clean overhead water towers. Maintenance of motors and other essential equipment will also be carried out to improve efficiency and reduce breakdowns.
The civic body said additional resources would be kept on standby to enable swift action in case of emergencies, particularly during peak demand or sudden technical failures.
The municipal commissioner has instructed officials in the water supply branch to conduct regular inspections in their respective areas and respond promptly to complaints. The directive is intended to strengthen oversight and minimise disruption to households across the city.
Residents experiencing water supply issues can register complaints through the corporation’s control room by calling 155304 or via its chatbot service at 9264447449, the civic body said.
