Patna: Police conducted a raid at a guest house in Naubatpur, adjoining Patna, on Tuesday following information about alleged suspicious activities at the premises.

The raid was carried out at a guest house located along the Bihta-Sarmera road under Naubatpur police station limits.

During the operation, police detained 17 people, including a minor girl, seven women and nine men. The guest house operator and manager were also taken into custody for questioning as investigators examine their possible role.

Minor Girl Among Those Detained

According to police, the detained group includes one minor girl, seven women and nine men.

The women are reportedly from areas including Naubatpur, Bikram, Paliganj and Dulhin Bazar. Police have not disclosed their identities.

Details concerning the minor have also been kept confidential.

SDPO-2 Umeshwar Chaudhary said the minor girl would undergo a medical examination and that police were questioning everyone detained during the raid.

Police Search Different Rooms

Police teams searched different rooms of the guest house during the operation.

The people present at the premises were questioned before being taken to the police station for further inquiry.

Investigators are examining how entries were recorded at the guest house and whether proper identification and verification procedures were followed for people staying there.

Mobile Phones and Other Items Seized

Police also reportedly recovered mobile phones and other objectionable items during the raid.

The seized items have been taken into custody for examination. Investigators are also examining information available on the mobile phones as part of the probe.

The purpose is to establish whether the items or digital records can provide information about the activities allegedly taking place at the guest house.

Operator and Manager Under Investigation

The role of the guest house’s operator and manager has also come under scrutiny.

Police are examining the guest house’s registers, records of visitors and other available information to determine who regularly visited the premises and whether required procedures for recording guests were followed.

Investigators are also trying to establish how long the alleged suspicious activities had been taking place and whether other people were connected to them.

Police Continue Probe

The detained individuals are being questioned as police investigate the circumstances surrounding the raid.

Authorities have not yet established publicly what specific illegal activity, if any, was taking place at the guest house.

Police said further legal action will depend on the findings of the investigation and the evidence gathered during the raid.

The identities of the detained individuals and other details will be disclosed only if required as the investigation progresses.
