Patna: Patna Police arrested 55 accused during a special crime-control operation conducted over the past 24 hours, according to information released by the office of the City Superintendent of Police (West), Patna.
Police said the operation was carried out across multiple police station areas to act against accused persons wanted in criminal cases and curb illegal activities.
Arrests In Criminal Cases
According to the police, those arrested included two accused in murder cases, 32 in attempted murder cases, two in Arms Act cases and one in a vehicle theft case.
The remaining 23 accused were arrested in other cases, police said.
The operation covered police station areas including Danapur, Bihta, Maner, Naubatpur, Paliganj and Dulhin Bazar, where police acted against several accused wanted in different cases.
Firearm, Ammunition And Vehicles Seized
During searches and raids, police recovered one country-made firearm, nine live cartridges, two spent cartridge cases and four vehicles, according to the official information.
Police also seized 300 litres of country-made liquor, 6.75 litres of foreign liquor and 100 cubic feet of illegally transported sand during action against alleged illegal trade.
During vehicle checking, the police collected Rs 21,000 in fines, the statement said.
46 Warrants Executed
Police said they executed 46 court warrants during the operation, including 17 bailable warrants and 29 non-bailable warrants.
In addition, two accused named in serious criminal cases surrendered before the court and police, according to the information provided.
Police Say Crime-Control Drive Will Continue
Patna Police said such operations would continue as part of efforts to strengthen law and order and act against criminal activities.
Police station officers have been instructed to maintain regular patrolling and conduct raids as required, according to the police administration.
