Patna: Police in Patna have arrested a 22-year-old man in connection with the alleged rape of an 18-year-old girl in the Parsa Bazar area of Bihar’s capital. The accused, identified as Raju, was apprehended swiftly after the victim’s family reported the incident.
The alleged assault reportedly occurred when Raju, who was known to the victim, lured her to his home on the pretext of some work. He then allegedly locked her in a room and raped her. The alarm was raised when the girl’s family began searching for her after she was missing for a significant period. Their suspicions led them to Raju’s house, where they reportedly found the girl locked in a room.
Upon receiving the report, Parsa Bazar police station in-charge Meenika Rani took immediate action, leading to Raju’s arrest. A case has been registered based on the victim’s statement, and she has undergone a medical examination.
Police have stated that Raju is a neighbour of the victim. He has been sent to judicial custody as investigations into the incident continue.
