Patna: Indian Railways will provide temporary stops for 38 trains at Patna Sahib station to manage the large footfall expected during the 359th Prakash Parv of Guru Gobind Singh, beginning later this month.

The East Central Railway announced on Wednesday that 19 pairs of long-distance and intercity trains will halt for two minutes each at Patna Sahib between December 19, 2025 and January 2, 2026, allowing Sikh pilgrims easier access to Takht Sri Harmandir Sahib.

Railway officials in Hajipur said the stoppages were approved following requests from gurdwara committees and feedback from previous years, when large numbers of devotees struggled due to limited train halts at the historic station.

The list includes major trains such as the Duronto Express, Poorva Express, Bagmati Express, Vibhuti Express, Dwarka Express, Garib Rath, Upasana Express, and the Sikkim Mahananda Express. The stoppages cover trains arriving from Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Guwahati, Bengaluru, Puri and other key cities.

Officials said the temporary halts would help disperse the pilgrim rush and reduce congestion at Patna Junction.

Below is the full list of trains with their scheduled two-minute halts at Patna Sahib:
