Patna: A 28-year-old student preparing for competitive exams was found dead in his rented accommodation in Ashoknagar, Kankarbagh, on Friday, in what police are treating as a suspected suicide.
Venugopal, who had moved to Patna four months ago from Sohsa village in Arwal district, was discovered hanging in his room in the evening, several hours after the incident occurred. His father, Manoj Kumar Sharma, raised the alarm after repeated calls to his son went unanswered. A relative broke into the locked room, finding Venugopal’s body. No suicide note was recovered.
Venugopal, the only son of Sharma and a student at a local coaching institute, had spoken with his father the previous day and appeared to be in good spirits. Friends and family report he showed no signs of distress, and the reasons behind his death remain unclear. Kankarbagh police have sent the body for post-mortem and are investigating the circumstances surrounding his death.
