Patna: Patna University has approved its PhD ordinance and regulations, along with draft ordinances and regulations for one-year and two-year postgraduate programmes aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
The decisions were taken at a meeting of the University’s Academic Council held on Thursday as part of preparations for the 2026-27 academic session.
Syllabus For 19 Subjects Approved
The Academic Council approved revised syllabus for 19 subjects, including History, English, Mass Communication, Geology, Chemistry, Physics, Biotechnology, Zoology, Commerce, Mathematics and Public Administration.
The approvals are intended to align academic programmes with the University’s revised curriculum framework under NEP 2020.
UG Course Structure Revised
The Council also approved the National Service Scheme (NSS) undergraduate course structure and its syllabus under AECC IV. In addition, it cleared a Cross-World Course focused on skill development within the undergraduate curriculum and approved changes to the Ability Enhancement Compulsory Course (AECC) structure.
Induction Meet Scheduled For July 6
Patna University will organise an induction programme for students admitted to regular undergraduate courses on July 6 across all constituent colleges.
The first round of counselling for self-financed undergraduate programmes will be conducted from July 6 to July 10.
Counselling For Apprenticeship-Embedded Degree Programmes
Counselling for admission to the four-year Apprenticeship Embedded Degree Programmes (AEDP), including BSc Digital Electronics and BSc Health Care Management for the 2026-30 session, will also be held between July 6 and July 10.
The counselling process will take place at BN College and Magadh Mahila College. Selected candidates have been asked to report to their allotted colleges within the prescribed schedule to complete admission formalities.
Application Correction Window To Open
The University has also announced an application correction window for candidates seeking admission to regular undergraduate programmes.
Applicants who have already submitted their forms will be able to make corrections through the admission portal from July 6 to July 8, according to the University.
