Patna: Patna Women’s College (Autonomous) organised a workshop on Thursday exploring career opportunities in the Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming and Comics (AVGC) sector and the wider “orange economy”, in collaboration with the Zee Institute of Creative Arts (ZICA), Patna.
The session, held at the college’s video conferencing hall in the Science Block, was attended by Semester II students from commerce, commerce professional, BBA and AMM programmes. It aimed to raise awareness about emerging creative career pathways in India’s expanding digital and media industries.
The workshop opened with a welcome address by Dr Soofia Fatima, dean and head of the department of commerce, who spoke about the importance of turning creative interests into viable professions within a changing economic landscape.

Speakers from ZICA Patna led the expert sessions. Anushk Alok, AI expert and placement head, spoke about the rapid growth of the AVGC industry and the increasing role of artificial intelligence in animation, gaming and digital media. He urged students to focus on skill development and building professional portfolios.
Suryansh Raj, director of ZICA Patna, discussed the concept of the orange economy and India’s position in the global creative sector, highlighting the importance of storytelling, personal branding and content creation. Other contributors, including Yash Tiwary and Gopinath Banerjee, spoke about career prospects in graphic design, the impact of the Union Budget 2026 on creative industries, and employability skills.

The workshop also featured an interactive demonstration and Q&A session, where students engaged with industry professionals on internships, skills and career pathways. The college said the event reflected its commitment to bridging the gap between academia and industry and encouraging students to explore opportunities in emerging creative fields.
