Patna: The Department of Botany, Patna Women’s College (Autonomous), organised a Guest Lecture on Counselling and Legal Awareness on January 15, 2026, aimed at promoting the holistic development and awareness of students.
The session was conducted by Ms Rekha Kumari, Counsellor and Legal Advisor at the Patna High Court. She shared valuable insights on mental well-being, legal rights, and the importance of legal awareness in everyday life. Emphasising the need for both emotional and legal preparedness, she encouraged students to be informed, confident, and responsible citizens.

The lecture was highly interactive, with students actively participating and raising questions related to counselling, mental health, and legal issues. Around 200 students attended the programme, making it a grand success.

The initiative helped students gain a deeper understanding of their rights and responsibilities and highlighted the significance of mental and legal awareness in both personal and professional life.
The entire programme was organised and coordinated by Dr Piyush Kumar Rai, Assistant Professor, Department of Botany, Patna Women’s College. His efforts ensured the smooth and successful conduct of the event.
The guest lecture was widely appreciated by both students and faculty members and proved to be a meaningful academic as well as awareness-oriented programme.
