Patna: Patna Women’s College started the Season of Creation 2025 on 8 September with its first programme, “Nature’s Corner Evaluation.” The event was organised by the Srishti Environment Club and the Department of Geography. The Season of Creation is observed every year from 1 September to 4 October across the world, and this year’s theme is “Peace with Creation.” The theme highlights the idea that true peace will come when the environment is protected and justice is ensured.
Dr Amrita Chowdhury, Head of the Department of Geography, addressed the gathering and encouraged students to make small but meaningful efforts for sustainability. She reminded everyone that even small actions, if done regularly, can create eco-friendly spaces and make a big difference in protecting the environment. Her words motivated students to take part actively in building a greener future.
The Nature’s Corner competition saw participation from many departments of the college. The Department of Fashion Designing won the Best Nature’s Corner Award. The Department of Social Work secured the second position, while the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning received the third prize. The Department of Geography, which hosted the programme, received a consolation prize. In all, around 250 students, including class representatives and members of the Srishti Environment Club, took part enthusiastically.
The event concluded with the launch of the third cycle of the Nature’s Corner initiative, which encourages students to maintain eco-friendly spaces in the college campus. The programme was coordinated by Ms Meenakshi Mishra, Assistant Professor in the Department of Geography and coordinator of the Srishti Environment Club. Teachers and students together reaffirmed their commitment to ecological awareness, sustainable practices, and spreading the message of living in peace with nature.
