Patna Women’s College Hosts UPSC/BPSC Seminar in Collaboration with ALS IAS Academy

Patna: Patna Women’s College (Autonomous), under Patna University, hosted a UPSC/BPSC career guidance seminar in collaboration with ALS IAS Academy, as part of its DISHA: Competitive Examination Guidance Cell initiative.
The seminar began on a traditional note with a prayer song, followed by a welcome address from Ms. Amrita Prakash, coordinator of DISHA and assistant professor in the Department of Computer Application.
The event featured several notable guests, including Bihar’s Minister of Education, Shri Sunil Kumar, who served as the chief guest. In his keynote address, he underscored the critical role of educational institutions in shaping the nation’s future and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting innovative learning environments. A memento was presented to him by college principal, Dr Sister M. Rashmi A.C., in appreciation of his presence.
Distinguished guest and MLA from Matihani, Shri Rajkumar Singh, shared insights from his four-year tenure, highlighting development and educational efforts in his constituency. His remarks resonated with students aiming for civil service careers. He too was honoured by the principal with a token of gratitude.
The seminar’s chief speaker, Shri Manish K Gautam, Chief Executive Director of ALS IAS Academy, delivered a motivational address that focused on leadership, civil services, and the aspirations of India’s youth. Stressing the values of “Dream, Determination, Discipline and Direction,” his talk aimed to energise civil service aspirants. He was felicitated by Ms. Prakash.
A key highlight of the event was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Patna Women’s College and ALS IAS Academy. This collaboration aims to enhance institutional capacity and provide students with greater access to training and career opportunities. The MoU was signed by Dr Sister M. Rashmi A.C. and Shri Manish K Gautam.
The event was coordinated by Ms. Amrita Prakash, Dr Nupur Sinha, Head of the Department of Psychology, and Ms. Puja Kumari, Cultural Coordinator and Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce. Moderation duties were handled by Samiksha Raj from the Department of English, one of the first recipients of a scholarship under this initiative. Dr Sinha also delivered the vote of thanks.
