Patna: Patna Women’s College (Autonomous), under Patna University, inaugurated its three-day Orientation Programme for the undergraduate batch of the 2026–2030 academic session on July 1 at the Veronica Auditorium.
The programme opened with a bhajan led by Dr Sister Celine Crasta A.C., Head of the Department of History and Cultural Coordinator, seeking divine blessings for the new academic session.
Principal Explains NEP 2020 and College Values
The inaugural academic session featured a presentation on the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 by Dr Sister M. Rashmi A.C., Principal of Patna Women’s College.
Addressing the new students, she explained the reforms introduced under NEP 2020 and encouraged them to uphold the institution’s core values throughout their academic journey.
Students Introduced to Campus Culture
Dr Zareen Fatima, Head of the Department of Economics, spoke about the college’s culture, academic environment and expectations from students.
The session aimed to familiarise the incoming batch with campus life and institutional practices.
Interactive Activities and College Profile Presentation
An interactive entertainment session conducted by Sports Teacher Quazi Bushra Ahmed engaged students through a series of activities designed to encourage participation and interaction.
Later, Dr Sister Celine Crasta A.C. presented the college profile, outlining the institution’s vision, mission, achievements, academic departments and infrastructure.
Cultural Performances Mark Opening Day
The first day concluded with the College Anthem, “Hey Manav”, led by Dr Sister Nelsa A.C., Assistant Professor in the Department of English.
Following the prayer session, actor and director Lucky Gupta from Kashmir presented a solo performance titled Maa Mujhe Tagore Bana De.
Programme Organised by Cultural Coordinators
The event was moderated by Samiksha Raj, Premier of the Student Council 2026–27.
According to the college, the orientation programme was organised by the cultural coordinators, Dr Sister Celine Crasta A.C., Enakshi Dey Biswas and Puja Kumari. The three-day programme is intended to introduce new students to the institution’s academic framework, values and campus environment before the commencement of regular classes.
