Rohtas: Jyoti Singh, wife of Bhojpuri superstar Pawan Singh, has said that she is ready to contest the Bihar assembly elections this year. While talking to the media in Dehri, Rohtas district, Jyoti Singh said she will enter politics even if no big political party gives her a ticket. She added that with the blessings of people, she will contest as an independent candidate if needed.
She told reporters that earlier she was worried about her father’s health, but now he is better and she feels confident to fight the elections. Jyoti Singh said, “The way the situation was, it seemed I would not be able to contest, but now Papa’s health is fine. If everything goes well and people bless me, I will definitely contest the elections.”
At present, it is not clear from which seat Jyoti Singh will contest. However, there are talks that she may fight from Karakat or Dehri assembly seats in Rohtas district. Earlier this year in March, Pawan Singh had also said that after contesting the Lok Sabha elections, he will now fight the 2025 Bihar assembly elections.
With this announcement, another name from the Bhojpuri film industry has entered the political field in Bihar ahead of the important assembly polls due later this year.
