Patna: A shocking incident happened at Patna Junction on Saturday when a two-and-a-half-year-old boy was kidnapped. The child’s mother, Radha Devi, had come to the station with her son Sonu to return to her village in Sitamarhi. She had left home after fighting with her husband. While sitting near platform 10’s ticket counter, a man came and started playing with her child.
The woman told railway police that the man was tall, fat, and about 40 to 42 years old. She said she was trying to borrow a phone from someone nearby to call her husband. During that time, the man who was playing with her child disappeared with him. Radha Devi searched everywhere on the platform, inside the station, and even outside towards Karbighiya but could not find her son.
The railway police said that the woman had been talking to the man for two to three hours and he had gained her trust. CCTV footage has shown the man taking the child away. The incident has raised questions about security at Patna Junction despite secret cameras and patrolling by RPF and GRP teams.
Railway SP AS Thakur said a Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been formed to search for the child. Raids are being carried out in different areas to find him. Police have assured the family that they are doing everything possible to bring the child back safely.
