Gayaji: Gayaji is all set to welcome lakhs of pilgrims during the Pitru Paksha Mela 2025, which will be held from 6 September to 21 September. Devotees from many states, especially Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Haryana, are expected to arrive in large numbers to perform the sacred ritual of Pind Daan. To manage the crowd, the district administration has started making major arrangements.
District Magistrate Shashank Shubhankar and SSP Anand Kumar visited Gayaji railway station to check the preparations. Special control rooms and help desks will be set up to guide pilgrims to the ritual spots. Cleanliness and beautification work, including Mithila paintings, will be done around the station. More toilets, drinking water points, and wheelchairs will also be made available.
All work will be completed by 15 August. Paths, platforms, and parking areas will be cleaned and repaired. LED screens, signboards, and loudspeakers will help pilgrims find their way. Medical teams, CCTV cameras, and police will be deployed to keep the fair safe. Officers have been told to behave politely with visitors.
Usually, about 50,000 passengers use Gayaji station every day, but during the fair, this number may go up to 90,000. To help manage the extra rush, the administration has asked for special trains from Bhopal to Gayaji.
