Patna: Ahead of Chhath Puja 2025, Indian Railways has announced eight special trains to manage the heavy passenger rush as devotees from across the country travel to Bihar to celebrate the festival with their families. Officials confirmed that the reservation process for these trains has already begun, with additional coaches to be attached based on demand.
The special trains include:
- 04651 Jaynagar–Amritsar Special
- 04097 Hasanpur Road–New Delhi Special
- 04732 Samastipur–Sri Ganganagar Special
- 04449 Darbhanga–New Delhi Special
- 07358 Raxaul–UBL (Bengaluru) Special
- 05557 Raxaul–LTT (Mumbai) Special
- 09068 Jaynagar–Udhna Special
- 09070 Samastipur–Udhna Special
A senior railway official said the initiative aims to provide relief to passengers struggling to secure tickets during the festival rush. “Every year, lakhs of passengers travel from other states to Bihar for Chhath Puja. This year, we are ensuring no one faces unnecessary hardship due to overcrowding,” the official added.
The Railways also announced that extra coaches would be attached to these trains if demand surges. Passengers have been advised to check real-time updates on seat availability and schedule changes through official railway platforms before travel.
