Patna: The four-day sports festival Prakrida 2026 concluded on Saturday with a valedictory ceremony and prize distribution event held at the auditorium of Birla Institute of Technology Patna.
The closing ceremony honoured athletes and teams who delivered standout performances across a range of sporting competitions. Winners were presented with trophies, medals and certificates, bringing the festival to an end amid a celebratory atmosphere across the campus.
The ceremony was attended by the institute’s director, Prof D.K. Mallick, along with organising convener Dr Suresh Yadav and co-chairman Dr Aneesh, who praised the participants for their performances and emphasised the role of sports in developing discipline, teamwork and leadership among young people.
Finals mark thrilling conclusion

The final day of Prakrida 2026 featured closely contested championship matches across several sporting disciplines.
In men’s cricket, the title was won by the CIMAGE Group of Institutions, while Magadh Mahila College secured the women’s cricket title.
The men’s football championship went to Patliputra University, while BIT Deoghar won the women’s football title.
In volleyball, BIT Sindri won the men’s category, while the women’s title went to Patna Women’s College.

The men’s basketball championship was won by the host team from Birla Institute of Technology Patna, while Patliputra University claimed the women’s basketball title.
In badminton, the men’s category was won by the Indian Institute of Information Technology Kharagpur, while the women’s title went to the Institute of Engineering and Management Kolkata.
Competitions were also organised in lawn tennis, table tennis, chess, carrom and e-sports, with students from participating institutions showcasing their skills and competitive spirit.
Participation from across regions
Teams from several states and districts took part in the festival, giving the event a strong inter-collegiate character and drawing enthusiastic crowds to the campus throughout the four days.
