Patna: Jan Suraaj Party founder and Bankipur Assembly by-election candidate Prashant Kishor has declared that he and his family own movable and immovable assets worth more than Rs 197 crore, according to the affidavit filed with his nomination papers on July 13.
The affidavit also provides details of his educational qualifications, annual income, liabilities, business interests and pending criminal cases.
Assets Exceed Rs 197 Crore
According to the election affidavit, Prashant Kishor owns movable assets valued at Rs 22,19,74,976.
His immovable assets include self-acquired properties with an estimated market value of Rs 59,25,00,000 and inherited properties worth Rs 14,62,00,000, taking his total immovable assets to Rs 73,87,00,000.
His wife, Jahnavi Das, has declared movable assets worth Rs 99,51,67,249 and immovable assets valued at Rs 12,42,00,000.
Their son, Daivik Bhardwaj, has deposits of Rs 7,19,281.

Income and Business Interests
The affidavit states that Prashant Kishor reported a total income of Rs 58,45,430 for the financial year 2024–25.
The declared income was recorded after a donation of Rs 10 crore to the Jan Suraaj Party. In the previous financial year (2023–24), he had reported an income of Rs 8,89,26,320.
He has also declared a 100% shareholding in Vedhas Ventures Private Limited.
Loans and Liabilities
Prashant Kishor has outstanding loans of Rs 5,77,53,765 from banks and financial institutions.
His wife has liabilities of Rs 55.38 lakh, including a personal loan of Rs 50 lakh and a security deposit of Rs 5.38 lakh.
Educational Qualifications
According to the affidavit, Prashant Kishor’s highest educational qualification is a Master of Healthcare Management (MHA) from the Administrative Staff College of India (ASCI), Hyderabad, completed between 2001 and 2003.
The programme was developed in collaboration with Johns Hopkins University in the United States and Hinduja Hospital.
Before pursuing his master’s degree, he completed a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) from the University of Lucknow in 1999.
Profession of Prashant Kishor and His Wife
Prashant Kishor has listed his profession as Political Advisor and Consultant.
His wife, Jahnavi Das, is an MBBS doctor and serves as Senior Advisor (Special Projects) at Apollo Indraprastha Hospital in New Delhi.
Pending Criminal Cases
The affidavit states that eight criminal cases are pending against Prashant Kishor in courts and police station jurisdictions, including Gandhi Maidan, Sachivalaya, Pirbahore, Saharsa Sadar, Bettiah and West Muzaffarpur.
The cases include allegations related to unlawful assembly, rioting, obstructing a public servant in the discharge of official duties and defamation.
The affidavit further states that charges have not been framed in these cases and that Prashant Kishor has not been convicted in any criminal case. It also notes that petitions related to some of the cases are pending before the Patna High Court.
