Patna: Jan Suraaj founder Prashant Kishor has issued a strong political response to the viral “Cockroach Janata Party” trend circulating on social media, saying the phenomenon reflects growing public dissatisfaction with the government and the current system.
Speaking on the issue, Kishor said that if “20 million people” were gathering on a single platform to express grievances against the government, it should be treated as a matter of concern for the administration.
PK Says Trend Reflects Public Dissatisfaction
According to Kishor, the popularity of the trend indicates mounting anger and frustration among large sections of the population, particularly young people.
He said issues such as:
- Unemployment
- Inflation
- Lack of opportunities
- Governance concerns
had contributed to growing resentment among the youth.
Kishor argued that the campaigns emerging on social media were expressions of this broader dissatisfaction.
‘Not Just Meme Culture’
The Jan Suraaj founder cautioned against dismissing the trend as merely internet humour or meme culture.
He said the viral nature of the campaign pointed towards deeper political and social frustration with the existing system.
“This demonstrates the sheer magnitude of people who are dissatisfied with the current system,” Kishor said.
Jan Suraaj Continues Targeting Government
Kishor, who remains active in Bihar politics through the Jan Suraaj campaign, has in recent months repeatedly criticised the government on issues related to:
- Employment
- Education
- Migration
- Governance
- Opportunities for youth
Political observers said the latest statement was part of Kishor’s broader attempt to position himself as a voice for public discontent ahead of future political contests in Bihar.
Social Media Trend Enters Political Debate
What began as a social media trend has now increasingly entered mainstream political discourse in Bihar.
The “Cockroach Janata Party” phrase has gained traction online, particularly among young users, with multiple political groups and observers closely tracking the conversation and its potential political implications.
