Patna: The Preliminary Test for the appointment of Clerks in Patna Civil Court will be conducted on Sunday, in a clean, misconduct-free, and peaceful manner. District Magistrate Chandrashekhar Singh and Senior Superintendent of Police Rajiv Mishra, addressing a joint briefing at Sri Krishna Memorial Hall on Saturday, emphasized the need for vigilance, readiness, and commitment from all officials involved.
The district administration has deputed 111 static magistrates and 69 executive magistrates (escort) for the smooth conduct of the examination. An additional 8 magistrates have been placed on standby in the district control room. Police officers and armed forces have also been deployed to maintain law and order.
The exam will take place in two shifts across 79 centers in Patna district. The first shift will be held from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, and the second shift will run from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Reporting time for candidates is 8:30 am for the first shift and 12:30 pm for the second, with gate closures at 9:30 am and 1:30 pm, respectively. Candidates have been instructed not to bring purses, phones, bags, watches, or smartwatches into the examination hall. Unauthorized persons are strictly prohibited from entering the centers during the examination period.
The DM and SSP have directed all center superintendents to ensure smooth and fair conduct of the examination. Invigilators will deposit their phones with the center superintendent and are prohibited from carrying any electronic devices. They are responsible for matching candidates’ photographs with their admit cards and attendance sheets.
The examination will be monitored by nodal officers, including Amarjeet Kumar Rai, Assistant Director Garden, Patna, and Satish Kumar, Superintendent of Police, Administration. They will work in coordination with Manish Upadhyay, Chief Judicial Magistrate, Civil Court, Patna, who is the examination nodal officer. Sub-divisional Officers and Sub-divisional Police Officers of Patna Sadar, Patna City, and Danapur have been assigned to oversee law and order in their respective areas.
The City Superintendent of Police for Central, East, and West Patna, along with the Additional District Magistrate for Law and Order, will take senior charge of maintaining security. The administration has directed all officials to ensure timely arrival at their respective centers and remain on duty until the exam concludes peacefully.
For effective crowd management and traffic control, the district administration has issued specific instructions. DM Chandrashekhar Singh highlighted the importance of creating a conducive environment for candidates while preventing any form of malpractice.
The office of the Principal District and Sessions Judge, Patna, had earlier informed that the examination would be conducted under the supervision of center superintendents, who are personally responsible for ensuring its fairness and integrity. Any negligence or violation will invite strict legal action.
The administration has reiterated its commitment to conducting the examination successfully and ensuring that candidates do not face any inconvenience. Officials have been instructed to remain vigilant and follow the prescribed guidelines.
