Meanwhile, in Bihar, millions of devotees gathered at river ghats to offer prayers to the setting sun. Sunday evening marked the completion of the Kharna fast, which begins the 36-hour Nirjala fast, during which participants abstain from both food and water. On the occasion, Kharna Prasad was distributed among family and friends, with devotees visiting homes late into the night.
The festival, which spans four days, will conclude on Tuesday. Devotees will offer prayers to the rising sun in the morning, followed by Paran, the ritual of offering food and water. Authorities have put in place strict security and sanitation measures at ghats to ensure the celebrations proceed safely.
