Patna: Congress Leader Rahul Gandhi is set to hold his first election rallies in Bihar on October 29, joining forces with state opposition leader Tejashwi Prasad Yadav to campaign for the Grand Alliance.
Gandhi will address public meetings in Sakra, a reserved assembly constituency in Muzaffarpur, and in Darbhanga. The rallies aim to support candidates backed by the Grand Alliance, which includes the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and Congress.
Rajesh Rathore, chairman of the Bihar Congress media department, said this would mark Gandhi’s first visit to Bihar for the current assembly elections. In Sakra, he is expected to address a public meeting supporting Umesh Ram, the Grand Alliance candidate, before moving to Darbhanga for a rally in support of other alliance candidates.
Gandhi has previously campaigned extensively across Bihar, spending 16 days travelling over 1,300 kilometres in the state. The October 29 rallies will be his first joint public appearances with Tejashwi Prasad Yadav during this election cycle.
