Munger/Patna: The Voter Adhikar Yatra of the INDIA alliance resumed on Thursday after a one-day break, with Congress leader Rahul Gandhi rejoining the campaign in Bihar.
Rahul led a roadshow in Munger late in the evening as part of the march, which began in Sasaram on August 17 and has so far passed through Rohtas, Aurangabad, Gaya, Nawada, Nalanda and Sheikhpura districts. The Yatra had paused on Wednesday but restarted on Thursday under the leadership of opposition leader Tejashwi Prasad Yadav.

Speaking to supporters, Tejashwi attacked the state government, saying: “We have to remove this junk government together. Only then will Bihar progress, only then will Biharis progress.”
The Congress announced that Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav will join the Yatra in Sitamarhi on August 28, a move expected to bolster the campaign. Party leaders said his participation will intensify the fight against what they allege is widespread vote theft.
The 16-day Yatra will cover about 1,300 kilometres across 20 districts and conclude with a large rally in Patna on September 1.
