Patna: Bihar’s Revenue Maha-Abhiyan, launched on August 16 and running until September 20, has seen a strong response across the state, with 1,584 camps organised in all 38 districts. More than 50,000 applications have been submitted so far, the majority of them (38,340) related to corrections in Jamabandi registers.
Other categories include applications for making offline Jamabandi records online (7,246), inheritance transfers (1,465) and partition transfers (1,368). Araria leads in total applications with 5,654, followed by Khagaria (3,131) and Supaul (2,754).
Between August 16 and August 24, 35.36% of Jamabandi register copies were distributed. Out of a total 3.6 crore Jamabandi in Bihar, more than 1,27,26,000 copies have been provided to households.
Districts showing remarkable performance in distribution include Vaishali (73.54%), Arwal (61.98%) and Kaimur (61.58%). Gopalganj (61.14%), Khagaria (60.26%), Sitamarhi (59.26%), Jehanabad (57.12%) and Araria (51.50%) also feature among the top performers. Patna, Begusarai, Gaya, Katihar, Saharsa, Samastipur and Saran have been marked as satisfactory.
Deepak Kumar Singh, Additional Chief Secretary of the Revenue and Land Reforms Department, said the campaign’s goal is to provide Jamabandi register copies to all eligible families by September 15. Teams are working at the mouza level, delivering copies, application forms and pamphlets directly. Applications are being registered through OTP verification at the panchayat camps, ensuring transparency in tracking their progress.
The campaign also covers correction of records, digitisation of missing Jamabandi, inheritance transfers and partition transfers.
