Patna: Political strategist Prashant Kishor (PK) is actively expanding the Jan Suraaj Party ahead of the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025, with significant new additions to its roster. Today, former IPS officer AP Singh and popular Bhojpuri actor Ritesh Pandey officially took membership in Jan Suraaj, signaling a strategic move to strengthen the party’s organizational and outreach capabilities.
While former IPS officer AP Singh is expected to contribute to the party’s foundational and strategic growth, Ritesh Pandey is slated to take a prominent role in the election campaign alongside Prashant Kishor. It is widely believed that Pandey’s established image as an actor will play a crucial part in attracting and engaging voters during the campaign.
Ritesh Pandey’s entry into Jan Suraaj has immediately fueled speculation that he could contest the upcoming assembly elections under the party’s banner. The association of Bhojpuri actors with political parties is a well-established trend in Bihar, with many singers and actors having successfully transitioned into the political arena.
Addressing the media, Prashant Kishor did not shy away from criticizing the current state of affairs in Bihar. He remarked, “Everyone knows what has happened to the crime in Bihar in the recent past. Everyone knows how the police is fooling people.” He also referenced a statement by an ADG of Bihar, who reportedly attributed rising crime to seasonal factors.
In contrast, PK lauded the newly joined former IPS officer, stating, “the former IPS who is joining us has performed his responsibilities very honestly and has served in this job for many years.”
