Patna: Bihar politics saw a day of contrasting moves on Friday, as Chief Minister Nitish Kumar embarked on his ‘Samriddhi Yatra’, while opposition leader Tejashwi Yadav convened a core committee meeting of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) at his official residence.
Amid the political manoeuvring, Rohini Acharya, who has distanced herself from the RJD and the Lalu Prasad family, issued a pointed critique of the party leadership on X (formerly Twitter), without naming individuals directly. She described the opposition leader’s meeting as a “show”, urging leaders to focus on “self-reflection” and accountability.

“More important than pretending to conduct a review is ‘self-reflection’ and taking responsibility,” Acharya wrote. “Any review will only be meaningful after showing the courage to deal with the identified ‘vultures’ who have taken control around ‘him’. This public, you know, they know and understand everything.”
Acharya has previously stirred political debate. On January 10, she wrote that a “great legacy” could be destroyed not by outsiders but by “your own” and a few “newly made relatives” acting with ill intent. She added: “It is surprising when those who owe their identity and existence to someone are themselves bent on erasing it, misled by ego and clouded conscience. Then the destroyer becomes the eyes, nose, and ears, and steals away wisdom and intellect.”

Her posts have been interpreted by observers as a critique of Tejashwi Yadav’s leadership and the influence of close aides within the party, highlighting ongoing tensions within Bihar’s opposition ranks.
