Samastipur: A 24-year-old woman from Vibhutipur in Samastipur district has accused the director of a local coaching institute of sexually exploiting her for five years by blackmailing her with an obscene video. The case came to light after the victim approached the court when her complaint was not registered by the police.
According to the FIR, the accused, identified as Abhay Bhushan, allegedly forced himself on the victim in February 2020, just days before her examination, while she was a student at Career Tutorial Art Classes. The victim claimed that he recorded an objectionable video during the incident and later used it to repeatedly coerce her into a physical relationship for five years.
The woman alleged that when she pressed for marriage, the accused initially agreed before his family and villagers during a Panchayat meeting but later denied it and began preparations to marry another girl.
Threats and Intimidation Alleged
In her statement, the victim said Abhay and his father threatened her when she confronted them. She further claimed that on June 21, she was taken to Samastipur and forced to sign blank papers under duress, with threats to kill her and her sister if she resisted.
The woman also said she had earlier approached a women’s organization and Vibhutipur police, but her complaint was not acted upon. She later filed an application in Rosra Court, following which an FIR was finally registered on July 25.
Police Action After Court Orders
The victim alleged that police initially dismissed her complaint, saying she had no evidence. She claimed she later showed WhatsApp chats and photographs as proof, after which police registered the FIR but hesitated to provide her with a copy.
Samastipur police officials confirmed that an FIR has now been filed against the accused. Further investigation into the allegations of sexual exploitation, blackmail, and intimidation is underway.
