Patna: Patna was rocked by a second murder late on Monday night, compounding the city’s anxiety in the wake of the killing of prominent businessman Gopal Khemka just days earlier.
Police said that Ajit Kumar, a resident of Mustafapur and living in Lekha Nagar, was shot dead outside the premises of the well-known DAV Public School in the Khagaul area.
Danapur Assistant Superintendent of Police, Bhanu Pratap Singh, arrived at the scene around midnight to oversee the initial investigation. Speaking to reporters, he confirmed that the victim’s body has been sent to Sadar Hospital for postmortem examination, while forensic teams have begun collecting evidence.
Police have not yet disclosed any motive for the killing or whether it might be linked to other recent crimes in the city. The murder has heightened concerns about public safety, coming so soon after the high-profile killing of Khemka in the heart of Patna.
