Patna: The political rhetoric in Bihar has intensified as Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) MP Shambhavi Chaudhary publicly countered Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Prasad Yadav’s statement that he would be sworn in as Chief Minister on November 18.
Speaking to reporters in Patna, Chaudhary said, “Dreaming is good, but don’t dream of becoming Chief Minister. The people of Bihar have pledged to make Nitish Kumar Chief Minister for the next five years, and they have already fulfilled that pledge at the ballot box.”
With the announcement of election results just days away, Chaudhary asserted that the country would watch closely on November 14 to see who forms the next government. She expressed confidence that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) would retain power in Bihar, and that Kumar would once again assume office.
Chaudhary also addressed posters featuring the slogan “Tiger is alive,” which have been circulated in support of Nitish Kumar. “While this reflects the sentiment of JD(U) workers, one thing is clear: Nitish Kumar remains alive in the hearts of the people of Bihar. He is as strong today as he was in 2005 and works with complete dedication,” she said. Highlighting Kumar’s governance, she added that women in the state now feel safer, and their growing representation in politics signals a changing Bihar.
On the NDA’s electoral strategy, Chaudhary criticised Tejashwi Yadav for appearing in the public eye only during elections. She said, “Booth-hunting is no longer the norm in Bihar; elections are won by votes. NDA leaders, including Prime Minister Modi, Nitish Kumar, and Chirag Paswan, engage with the public throughout the year, unlike their rivals.”
