Siwan: The Bihar government has announced a plan to develop model schools in all 19 blocks of Siwan district. Under this initiative, one government school in each block will be selected and upgraded with better infrastructure and modern learning facilities. The aim is to improve the quality of education in government schools and provide students with a more supportive and engaging learning environment.
According to officials, the education department has already started preparations for the project. The selected schools will be equipped with smart classrooms, libraries and laboratories to support digital and practical learning. Along with academic facilities, the schools will also have playgrounds and parks so that students can take part in sports and physical activities, which are considered important for overall development.
The project is being carried out under the state government’s Seven Resolutions 3 programme. A resolution issued by the cabinet secretariat has set a target to complete the development of one model school in each block by the year 2030. District education officials said that the selection of schools will be done at the district level, and special attention will be given to improving both infrastructure and the teaching system.
These model schools are expected to serve as examples for other government schools in the same block. Facilities such as e-libraries, smart classrooms and modern laboratories will demonstrate how quality education can be delivered in government institutions. Tree plantation, parks and green spaces will also be developed on school premises to create a clean and healthy atmosphere for students.
Officials believe that once these model schools are fully developed, they will help raise education standards across the district. By offering improved facilities and a better learning environment, the government hopes to attract more students to government schools and strengthen the public education system in Siwan.
