Siwan: A tragic and shocking incident took place in the Dhanauti OP police station area of Siwan on Saturday, leaving the entire village in fear and grief. A 20-year-old youth, Guddu Kumar, lost his life after standing up for his sister, who was allegedly molested by a group of young men. The death of Guddu has caused deep sorrow in the village, and his family is struggling to cope with the loss.
According to the family, Guddu’s sister had gone to the riverbank in the village to perform a cremation ritual. During this time, some young men tried to molest her. When she resisted their actions, the accused reportedly hit her nose with a heavy object, leaving her bleeding. Terrified and in pain, she rushed home and told her brother everything. Guddu immediately accompanied her to the Dhanauti OP police station, determined to seek justice and punish the attackers.
However, just minutes after filing the complaint, Guddu was attacked near the police station. Witnesses say the same accused youths intercepted him and stabbed him repeatedly, only a few steps away from the station entrance. Locals rushed Guddu to Siwan Sadar Hospital, but due to his critical condition, he was referred to Patna for better treatment. Tragically, he died on the way. His family broke down upon hearing the news, and his sister fainted repeatedly after seeing his body.
The police have launched an investigation into the incident. Dhanauti OP station in-charge, Dinesh Kumar Pandey, described the case as extremely serious and sensitive. He confirmed that one named accused has already been arrested, based on Guddu’s statement before his death. Raids are ongoing to arrest the remaining suspects who are on the run. The villagers are demanding strict punishment, saying that such incidents instil fear among those who seek justice.
