Patna: The Three-Day State-Level Employment Fair 2026 (Health and Allied Sectors) was inaugurated on today at Gyan Bhawan, Patna, under the Bihar Skill Development Mission, functioning under the Department of Youth, Employment & Skill Development.

The event was formally opened through the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by Minister Arun Shankar Prasad and Secretary Dr Kaushal Kishore. Senior officials, including the Director of Employment & Training Sunil Kumar, ACEEO of Bihar Skill Development Mission Hemant Kumar Singh, and Mission Director Manish Shankar, were present.

Large-Scale Recruitment Drive

The fair has brought together around 100 companies from the healthcare and allied sectors, offering approximately 20,000 vacancies. Leading hospitals such as Medanta, Apollo, Paras, Ruban, Akhand Jyoti and Portea are participating.

International recruitment agencies, including Blue Seas Talent LLP, Magic Billion, 2 Coms Jobs Academy, Alpha Manpower, Care 24 and Ampersand International Mobility, are also part of the initiative, expanding opportunities for overseas employment.

Officials said more than 62,000 candidates had registered online for the event.

Government Focus on Skill Development

Addressing the inauguration, Minister Arun Shankar Prasad said the job fair is a platform connecting youth aspirations with employment opportunities. He said the initiative aligns with the state government’s Saat Nishchay-3 programme, aimed at skill development, dignified employment and improved income opportunities.

He added that expanding opportunities in the health sector through such fairs would help youth build stable career pathways.

Systematic Placement Process

Secretary Kaushal Kishore said this is the first large-scale, centrally organised job fair dedicated to the healthcare sector with structured online registration and scheduling.

He said the department plans to organise similar sector-specific employment fairs six to seven times a year to improve job access for youth across Bihar.

Advice to Candidates

Kishore advised candidates to approach private sector jobs with patience, noting that salaries and career growth improve with experience and performance. He said most applicants were freshers and encouraged them to prioritise learning and skill development.

He also highlighted growing demand for nursing and caregiving professionals in Europe and Gulf countries, indicating expanding international opportunities.

Participation and Selection

On the first day, over 13,000 candidates registered their attendance at the fair, while 2,438 were selected by participating employers.

The fair, which will continue till May 27, is expected to see participation from candidates across all districts of Bihar. Officials said the initiative aims to strengthen employability and expand access to both domestic and international job markets.
