Patna: A counselling session for prospective candidates in the Student Council Election 2026–2027 was held on campus on Thursday, allowing students to assess their readiness for leadership roles before filing nominations. The session focused on evaluating candidates’ sense of responsibility, leadership qualities and understanding of the duties associated with different positions in the student council.
Following the counselling process, eligible candidates proceeded to submit their nomination forms for several key posts in the upcoming election. The positions open for contest include premier, general secretary, cultural secretary, sports secretary, and environment and discipline secretary.
Five students filed nominations for the post of premier: Aliba Nadeem, Samiksha Raj, Monalisa Mervyn, Simmi Singh and Ayushi Arya. For the position of general secretary, Sonal Kumari, Vaishnavi Srivastava, Sannya Sinha, Ayesha Ara and Anushka Roy submitted their nominations.
Three candidates Yashika Raj, Mushkan Sharma and Anjali Gupta entered the race for cultural secretary, while Richa Kumari and Khushi Kumari filed nominations for sports secretary. Meanwhile, Swati Priya, Vagisha Variyar and Rupali Kumari submitted their nominations for the post of environment and discipline secretary.
In total, 18 students filed nominations across the five positions. Students from different academic departments participated in the process, reflecting strong interest in campus leadership and student representation.
The counselling session also allowed candidates to share their ideas and vision for the student community. Authorities overseeing the process highlighted the importance of integrity, responsibility and commitment among those seeking to represent their peers.
The remaining stages of the election will proceed according to the schedule announced by the election committee. The Student Council Election 2026–2027 aims to encourage democratic participation, leadership development and meaningful representation of students within the institution.
