Patna: Bollywood actor and former Miss Universe Sushmita Sen received an enthusiastic welcome in Patna on Sunday during the inauguration of PNG Jewellers’ new flagship store on Kankarbagh Main Road.
Sen, who spent time interacting with residents and fans who gathered along the route to see her, also sampled local delicacies including litti-chokha and Champaran mutton. “I love both the culture and cuisine of Bihar,” she said, describing the people of the state as “very sweet”.
Speaking at the event, the actor reflected on the city’s atmosphere and its harmony: “The sound of temple bells and the azaan from the mosque enhance its beauty.” She added that she felt deeply appreciated by the public, noting their warmth and respectful silence during her visit.
Sen said she was in Patna at the invitation of a former member of her staff and expressed her delight at returning to the state. “I feel very happy to be in Bihar. This city has a big heart,” she told the audience, thanking those who attended the store opening.
The ceremony was also attended by minister Ramkripal Yadav, MLA Sanjay Gupta and other dignitaries. The newly opened 4,000 sq ft outlet is PNG Jewellers’ flagship store in the city.
Emphasising the value of gold, Sen said jewellery should be considered an investment, particularly as prices continue to rise. “Buy and wear gold,” she advised, describing the launch as the beginning of a new trend in Patna.
