Patna: The Birla Institute of Technology (BIT), Patna, witnessed an atmosphere of excitement and celebration on Thursday as its annual techno-cultural festival, Technika 2026, was officially inaugurated. The event began at the institute’s auditorium with the participation of a large number of students, teachers and special guests. From the very first day, the campus reflected a festive mood, with students actively taking part in activities and eagerly looking forward to the days ahead.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by prominent guests Rana Randheer and Rohail Ranjan, who jointly opened the festival. While addressing the students, they spoke about the importance of innovation, creativity and cultural expression among the youth. They encouraged students to explore their talents, think beyond academics and use such festivals as a platform to grow both personally and professionally. Dr D K Mallik, director of BIT Patna, also addressed the gathering and highlighted the institute’s focus on overall student development through academics, technology and cultural activities.
The first day of Technika 2026 featured a wide range of events that kept students engaged throughout the day. Technical competitions tested problem-solving and analytical skills, while gaming zones attracted large crowds of enthusiastic participants. At the same time, cultural events such as singing, dancing, poetry and theatre performances gave students an opportunity to express their artistic talents. The mix of technical and cultural programmes ensured that students from all streams could participate and enjoy the festival.
Technika 2026 is a three-day celebration that aims to bring students together through teamwork, creativity and learning. The festival is expected to conclude with a grand Pro-Nite, featuring popular Bollywood playback singer Mohammad Irfan, which is likely to be one of the biggest attractions.
