Teen Dies, Six Injured in Tempo Collision on Hajipur Road

Two tempos collided head-on in Vaishali district, killing an 18-year-old boy and injuring six others, including women and a child

Hajipur: A tragic accident took place near Jhakharaha on the Hajipur-Jandaha Road under Rajapakar police station area in Bihar on Tuesday. Two tempos collided head-on, leaving an 18-year-old boy dead and six others injured. Both tempos were badly damaged in the accident. Locals rushed to the spot to help the injured passengers who were crying out in pain.

The deceased has been identified as Krish Kumar, son of Arjun Mahato, a resident of Medni Mal Pokhra Mohalla. He was returning from his aunt’s house in Jandaha to Hajipur with his cousin Suraj Kumar. The injured include Suraj Kumar (20), Tausif Raja (21), Meena Devi (35), her daughter Soni Kumari (17), Shanti Devi (45), and Priyadarshi Raj (12).

Rajapakar MLA Pratima Das was passing by when the accident happened. She stopped her car and took the injured to Sadar Hospital for treatment with the help of local people. Doctors at the hospital declared Krish Kumar dead, while the others were treated for their injuries.

According to the police, one tempo was coming from Hajipur towards Jandaha carrying oxygen cylinders while the other was going towards Hajipur with passengers. Both vehicles lost control and crashed into each other. Rajapakar police station in-charge Dharmendra Kumar said the body has been sent for post-mortem and necessary action is being taken after investigation.
