Patna: Janshakti Janata Dal leader and former minister Tej Pratap Yadav has filed a formal police complaint against retired IPS officer Amitabh Kumar Das, accusing him of spreading defamatory content online. The complaint was registered on Thursday at the Secretariat police station in Patna.
Tej Pratap announced the move on social media, saying that Das had circulated “offensive and fabricated” claims about his personal and family life through a digital platform. He said the remarks were made with the intention of tarnishing his public image.
In his post, Tej Pratap wrote that the statements were “absurd, false and baseless”, adding that such behaviour was “extremely sad and intolerable” coming from a former senior police officer. He described the comments as “unforgivable” and said he had formally requested action against Das.
“Today I have filed a complaint at the Secretariat Police Station against this arrogant former IPS officer, Amitabh Kumar Das, and demanded appropriate action,” Tej Pratap posted.
He also noted that Das had been associated with earlier controversies, referring in particular to the Shabnam case, and suggested this latest episode fit into a pattern of provocative conduct.
Police officials said the complaint has been received and the matter is under examination.
