Patna: Lalu Prasad’s eldest son, Tej Pratap, has sparked a wave of attention on social media after being spotted in Patna riding a Rs 15 lakh Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R sports bike. The video, set to the title track of the Bollywood blockbuster Dhoom, shows Tej Pratap performing reels along the city streets, attracting playful commentary from fans online.
“Green bike, thick tires, Teju Bhaiya on fire,” wrote one user, while another joked, “Teju Bhaiya getting ready for Dhoom 4.” The Ninja ZX-6R, known for its 636 cc liquid-cooled four-cylinder engine and 122 horsepower, is a high-performance ‘supersport’ bike featuring a quick shifter, dual-channel ABS, advanced traction control, and multiple riding modes including Sport, Road, and Rain. Its on-road price in India ranges between Rs 14 lakh and Rs 15.5 lakh.
The appearance comes amid Tej Pratap’s political and personal turbulence. Following his electoral defeat from Mahua in Vaishali, he launched a new YouTube channel, TY VLOG, after losing access to his previous platform, LR VLOG, which had crossed one lakh subscribers. In his first video, Tej Pratap explored the workings of a dairy milk production factory, offering viewers a step-by-step look at the processing and packaging.
“Nothing is impossible in life,” Tej Pratap wrote alongside his video, marking a return to digital content creation with the same enthusiasm he showed as a former environment and forest minister of Bihar. Despite being provided with Y-category security, his online presence is noted for its relative informality and personal touch.
Tej Pratap’s political journey has been equally dramatic. After being expelled from the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and his family by Lalu Prasad on May 25 for “activities, public conduct, and irresponsible behaviour” deemed inconsistent with family values, he formed a new party, Jan Shakti Janata Dal, and contested the Mahua assembly seat. While he had previously won the constituency in 2015 as an RJD candidate, this time he finished behind the LJP candidate Sanjay Kumar Singh and former RJD MLA Mukesh Roshan.
The former minister’s personal life has also drawn attention. In May 2025, a social media post reportedly showing him with a long-term partner went viral but was quickly deleted, prompting further speculation and contributing to his expulsion from the party.
Tej Pratap’s latest digital ventures and high-profile lifestyle choices appear aimed at carving out a new public identity separate from his political past and family legacy. Whether this pivot will resonate beyond social media remains to be seen, but for now, he is back in the public eye—this time with a high-speed bike and a camera in hand.
