Patna: Tej Pratap Yadav, senior leader and former Bihar minister, launched a sharp verbal attack on his brother, RJD MLA Bhai Virendra, on Friday, accusing him of threatening law and order in the state. Speaking to reporters in Patna, Tej Pratap described Virendra as a “goon” and “rowdy” and demanded strict government action against him.
The remarks come after an incident at a polling booth in Maner on Thursday, in which Bhai Virendra allegedly abused a police inspector and threatened to set him on fire. An FIR has been filed in connection with the incident.
“Action should be taken against him, whether he is an RJD leader or a member of any other party,” Tej Pratap said. “These people have ruined Bihar. They are goons and rowdies. They even beat up Dalits. The government must take cognisance and act against them.”
This is not the first time Tej Pratap has publicly reprimanded his brother. Earlier this year, he condemned Virendra for allegedly mistreating a Panchayat Secretary in Champaran, an incident captured in a viral audio clip. A case was filed at the SC/ST police station at the time, and a fresh FIR has now been lodged following Thursday’s altercation.
