Patna: Tej Pratap Yadav, elder son of RJD leader Lalu Prasad and founder of the Janshakti Janata Dal, has been provided Y-plus category security following concerns over his personal safety. Speaking to reporters, Tej Pratap said he feared for his life, claiming that “people will even get me murdered.”
The central government, acting on recommendations from security agencies, ordered the deployment of a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) team to protect him. Y-plus security typically includes 11 personnel: five commandos stationed at the VIP’s residence and six officers deployed in three shifts.
Tej Pratap, who recently formed his new party after being expelled from the RJD, is contesting the Mahua seat in the upcoming elections. He appealed to both the central and state governments to strengthen his security, citing rising criminal incidents in Bihar, including the recent murder of Dular Chand Yadav in Mokama, as a cause for concern.
In addition to discussing his security, Tej Pratap took the opportunity to wish his younger brother, Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, a happy birthday. “Let him move forward, I wish him a bright future. He has my blessings,” he said.
