Patna: Tej Pratap Yadav, elder son of RJD supremo Lalu Prasad, has broken his silence 35 days after photos and videos with Anushka Yadav went viral, leading to his expulsion from both party and family. In an interview, he confirmed the authenticity of the posts, saying, “Everyone loves. If I loved, I did. I did not commit any mistake.”
On May 25, photos and videos of Tej Pratap with Anushka Yadav surfaced on social media. The next day, Lalu expelled him from the party for six years, citing irresponsible behaviour that weakened their collective struggle for social justice. Despite this, Tej Pratap asserted, “No one can remove me from people’s hearts. My father is most important to me. We will contest the Bihar elections. The public will decide my role.”
Tej Pratap admitted uploading the photos himself, contradicting his earlier claim that his account was hacked. Viral images showed him with Anushka, who appeared wearing sindoor and mehndi, sparking rumours of marriage. He denied wrongdoing, stating love also has a cost.
Anushka’s brother Akash Yadav defended the couple, saying both are adults and their personal decision would be respected by the family.
Earlier, on June 19, Tej Pratap had posted a warning, alleging conspiracies against him, writing, “Those who consider my silence as weakness are mistaken. The Supreme Court and people will decide my role, not any party or family.”
Lalu justified his decision to expel Tej Pratap, saying ignoring moral values in personal life weakens the party’s ideological struggle, and declared he would no longer have any role in family or party affairs.
