Patna: In the wake of a public feud within the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) following its electoral defeat, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Yadav leader Nikhil Anand has urged Rohini Acharya and Misa Bharti, daughters of RJD founder Lalu Prasad, to step forward and assume leadership of the party.
The controversy erupted after Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, Lalu’s son and RJD president, faced criticism for his handling of the party and alleged inability to keep the family united. Rohini Acharya recently alleged that she was assaulted and verbally abused at Rabri Devi’s residence after naming Sanjay Yadav as a factor in the party’s defeat. Speaking publicly, Rohini said her parents and sisters were with her and shared in her distress during the altercation.

Nikhil Anand, who lost the 2020 Maner assembly election to RJD MLA Bhai Virendra, commented on the situation via social media. “Rohini ji! I am truly saddened. You are a brave daughter who donated her kidney to your father. It is deeply saddening that you are breaking ties with the family and leaving politics,” he tweeted. “In this time of crisis for the RJD, you and Misa Bharti should step forward to become Lalu Prasad’s true political successors. Tejashwi Yadav has failed miserably in leading the party and keeping the family united.”
Anand also questioned the silence of other family members, including Misa Bharti. “When all this is happening with Rohini Acharya, it seems Lalu and Rabri are feeling helpless. Has Tejashwi Yadav intimidated everyone? But when the Lalu family is falling apart, the neutrality of other family members also makes them guilty,” he wrote. He added that Tej Pratap Yadav, Lalu’s eldest son, may be expelled from the family, but remaining a passive observer was “morally unacceptable,” urging the siblings to support their parents and preserve the family unity.
