Jamui: Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, leader of the opposition and former deputy chief minister, vowed on Saturday to end what he described as a “great jungle raj” in Bihar if the Grand Alliance assumes power. Speaking at a rally held at Chakai High School grounds, Yadav promised that all manifesto commitments would be implemented immediately after the formation of the government.
Addressing a large crowd, Yadav outlined a series of welfare measures, including a government job for one member of every family, monthly financial assistance under the Mai Bahin Scheme, and provisions for education, healthcare, and income support. “With the support of the public, we must build a new Bihar and eradicate the chaos that has prevailed for the past two decades,” he said.
Yadav criticised previous administrations for alleged misgovernance, highlighting rising crime rates, including murders, kidnappings, and robberies. “Murder, kidnapping, and robbery are occurring daily, yet the previous governments remain unaccountable,” he added.
Before the rally, the audience was entertained by Khortha singer Ashish Yadav. Security arrangements were overseen by Chakai Police Station Officer Rakesh Kumar, with a significant deployment of police and CRPF personnel.
The opposition leader reiterated his promises in other campaign stops, including Chhapa Teliyadih Ground in Jhajja Block, Shri Krishna Singh Stadium in Jamui, and Karmatand Ground in the Naxal-affected Harni Panchayat of Khaira Block. He criticised the current government for high unemployment, inflation, and migration, urging voters to back “new thinking and new leadership.”
“Change is necessary in Bihar. If the RJD is to strengthen and the dishonest government removed, the people must support us,” he said, drawing large crowds of workers and supporters at each venue.
