Patna: Dense fog across Bihar, caused by heavy snowfall in nearby hilly regions, brought widespread disruption to both rail and air services on Saturday.
The 12310 Tejas Rajdhani Express reached Patna Junction nearly three hours late, arriving 2 hours and 42 minutes behind schedule. Other long-distance trains also faced significant delays: the 12394 Sampoorna Kranti Express was delayed by 3 hours and 35 minutes, the 22365 Amrit Bharat Express by 8 hours and 44 minutes, the 20802 Magadh Express by 1 hour and 47 minutes, the 12368 Vikramshila Express by 1 hour and 5 minutes, and the 12393 Shramjeevi Express by 44 minutes.
Air travel was similarly affected. Visibility at Patna Airport dropped to 100 metres, leading to the cancellation of two IndiGo flights, while six others arrived late by up to 2 hours and 14 minutes. Departures were also delayed, with 15 flights leaving up to 2 hours and 25 minutes behind schedule. Darbhanga Airport, where visibility fell to just 50 metres, saw all 12 scheduled flights cancelled.
The first flight to land at Patna on Saturday arrived at 11:19am, 1 hour and 39 minutes behind schedule, highlighting the ongoing challenges for travellers in the region.
