Patna: Indian Railways has announced that the popular UTS on Mobile app, which is used by passengers to book unreserved and local train tickets, will be shut down from March 1. After this date, the app will stop working completely and no ticket booking or other services will be available on it. The Railways has advised all passengers to download the new RailOne app and start using it in advance to avoid problems in their daily travel.
The UTS on Mobile app has been in use for many years and is especially popular among daily commuters, office workers, students, and local train passengers. Millions of people use the app every day to avoid long queues at railway counters. Its closure is a big digital change for the Railways, as it plans to bring all ticketing and travel services under one platform instead of running multiple apps.
The Railways says that RailOne is a new all-in-one mobile application that will make ticket booking and travel planning easier. Through this app, passengers can book unreserved tickets, check reserved ticket details, plan their journeys, and get important train-related information. The aim is to give users a faster, smoother, and more reliable digital experience from a single platform.
Officials have clearly stated that after March 1, only the RailOne app will be used for mobile ticket booking. Passengers who continue to depend on the UTS app without switching may face difficulties in buying tickets. The Railways has therefore urged users not to wait until the last moment and to shift to RailOne as early as possible, calling this step a part of its ongoing effort to improve digital railway services across the country.
