Patna: Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has said his goal is not only to perform well at the highest level but also to maintain consistency over a long period after earning selection to the Indian cricket team.
In an interview shared by Rajasthan Royals on social media, the young batter said he hopes to represent India in all three formats of the game and build a sustained international career.
Youngest player selected for India squad
At 15, Suryavanshi has become one of the youngest players selected for an Indian national squad.
He has been named in the squads for the T20 series against Ireland and England in June and July, as well as for the Asian Games later this year.
Speaking with Rajasthan Royals team manager Romi Bhinder, Sooryavanshi reflected on his development during the IPL season and the lessons learned from competing at the highest level.
Learning from the IPL experience
The batter said the lengthy IPL season required players to remain mentally and physically prepared throughout the tournament.
He noted that the team regularly reviewed performances after matches, discussing shortcomings and identifying areas for improvement.
According to Sooryavanshi, those conversations helped players learn from mistakes and contributed to individual and collective growth during the campaign.
Reflects on Orange Cap achievement
Sooryavanshi also spoke about winning the Orange Cap during the tournament.
He recalled that, as a young cricket fan, he would often watch leading run-scorers wear the cap and wondered what it would feel like to achieve the distinction himself.
The batter said he avoided focusing on individual awards during the season and preferred to concentrate on his performances and the team’s objectives.
Team success remains the priority
Reflecting on Rajasthan Royals’ campaign, Sooryavanshi said team success remained more important than personal recognition.
He expressed disappointment that the side was unable to reach the final but said the experience had strengthened the squad’s ambition to compete for future titles.
He added that the franchise would aim to challenge for more trophies in the coming seasons.

Aspires to play all formats
Suryavanshi said he particularly enjoys red-ball cricket and continues to work on the skills required for longer formats of the game.
Referring to previous discussions about his future ambitions, he said he intends to adapt his batting to the demands of Test, one-day and T20 cricket.
“My dream is to play all three formats for India,” he said, adding that he remains focused on continuous improvement.
Gratitude for Rajasthan Royals
The young batter also expressed gratitude to Rajasthan Royals for providing him with an opportunity early in his career.
He said the support staff, coaches and senior players had played a significant role in his development, describing the franchise environment as supportive and conducive to learning.
Sooryavanshi added that guidance from experienced players had helped him understand the demands of professional cricket and prepare for the next stage of his career.
