Patna: The weather in Bihar is witnessing a gradual transition as the monsoon prepares to retreat from the state. Residents have started feeling a slight chill in the morning and evening breeze, while afternoons remain hot under the intense sun.
According to the Patna Meteorological Centre, monsoon activity is expected to weaken further in the coming days. No low-pressure system is currently forming over the Bay of Bengal, significantly reducing the chances of rain. Weather scientists estimate that the official withdrawal of the monsoon from Bihar may take place between October 10 and 15.
In the last 24 hours, rain was forecast in 26 districts, but only Begusarai witnessed heavy showers on Wednesday evening. The rest of the state, including Patna, remained largely dry. The capital city recorded a drop of 4 degrees Celsius in maximum temperature, signaling a shift toward cooler weather.
The Met Centre has not issued any rain alert for Thursday, and the weather is expected to remain normal across Bihar for the next week. However, humidity is likely to persist, offering no major relief to residents during the daytime.
Dry North-Westerly Winds Bring Seasonal Change
Meteorologists attribute the changing weather pattern to dry north-westerly winds that have begun influencing the region. This shift has led to a slight drop in night temperatures and a noticeable nip in the morning and evening air. Over the next 48 hours, the maximum temperature may rise by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature is expected to remain stable.
Patna Weather Outlook
In Patna, the skies will remain clear for the next week, with dry conditions prevailing. The maximum temperature is expected to hover between 33°C and 35°C, and the minimum between 23°C and 25°C. Light cool winds in the mornings and evenings are making the weather pleasant, marking the early signs of seasonal change in the state.
