Patna/Bettiah: A major state highway project in Bihar’s West Champaran district is expected to significantly improve transport and economic activity in the region, with construction scheduled for completion by 2026, officials said. The project, being built at an estimated cost of Rs 360 crore, is expected to sharply reduce travel time between Bettiah and Narkatiaganj. At present, commuters face frequent traffic congestion and poor road conditions, causing delays and safety concerns.

Government engineers said quality control measures were being prioritised and that the project was on track to meet its deadline. Once completed, the highway is expected to play a key role in improving access to markets, healthcare and education across West Champaran.
