Gayaji: A historic morning unfolded at the Officers Training Academy (OTA) in Gayaji as 207 cadets took the oath to become commissioned officers in the Indian Army, including six from districts of Bihar such as Gayaji and Munger. Among them, Dhruv Kulthe of Kolhapur, Maharashtra, was honoured with the Sword of Honour for being adjudged the best officer cadet in the Short Service Commission (Technical) Male-63 and Female-34 courses and was commissioned into 9 Grenadiers.
The 27th passing out parade saw 63 to 184 male cadets and 23 to 34 female cadets commissioned. The parade was marked by precise and synchronized drill movements that impressed the audience. Lieutenant General Anindya Sengupta, Generqal Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Central Command, inspected the parade and felicitated outstanding cadets with medals and honours.
Monu Kumar of Haryana received the gold medal for topping the overall order of merit and was commissioned into 11 Jat. Piyush Dimri of Dehradun won the silver medal and joined 7 Kumaon, while Mukta Singh of Gwalior was awarded the bronze medal and commissioned into 118 Engineer Regiment (Bombay). The achievements of these cadets, many of whom succeeded after multiple attempts, served as a message of perseverance and dedication to aspiring officers.
The parade also highlighted a growing number of female officers, with 23 women among the newly commissioned cadets, a milestone celebrated by both families and the institution. The event underscored the commitment of young officers from across India, including Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, Rajasthan, and Bihar, to serve the nation.
The occasion was not only a personal triumph for the cadets but also a proud moment for their families, who gathered to witness the commissioning of their children in uniform, marking the beginning of their professional military careers.
